Out of the box, this unit will not function correctly. You will have serious problems with foaming beer because of 3 defects.
1. Temperature regulator does not sense liquid temperature. It is also located too close to the cooling plate and needs to be moved further away to get a more accurate reading.
2. The tower does not flow cool air and ambient temperature inside is much higher than it needs to be
3. The spigot is also non-conventional and doesnt encourage an even flow
As far as I know, mine doesnt make any noises at all so I’m not sure what the other review is referring to or if they have a unit that isnt working correctly.
All of the above problems can be corrected.
Temperature –
a) Purchase a new regulator and bypass danby’s.
b) Move the sensor away from its current position and put it in water to get a more accurate “liquid” reading.
Tower – Install a small fan to circulate air into the tower
Spigot – Replace with a standard one
Unfortunately for Amazon reviews, i cant link to other information that will help you do all of this, but if you search for the name of the unit, links that will help, show up very high in the list.

I bought this product at Home Depot and from the beginning it was extremely loud. The rest of the unit wasn’t too bad it was a nice looking fridge. After only about 2 weeks I noticed that the temperature would vary between 32 and 45 (I had the setting set for 34) and the unit would not start cooling until it hit 45. After a few more days the unit failed to cool at all. That’s where the fun began, serval calls later we finally had a service tech out who took it back to the shop… and that was 1 month ago – calls to Danby and the Service tech get answers of “we are waiting on a circuit board from China – should be arriving in a few weeks”. I have sent e-mails to Danby with no returns. I have threaten to take it back to Home Depot and have been told that if I want to do that, I will have to pick it up from the service tech (15 miles away). Stay away from Danby!!!!

I received the order very rapidly and would recommend it to other buyers. I works well and is fine craftsmanship.

I bought this beer kegerator for my husband for christmas. Only to find out that we can’t buy any beer for it! What’s up with Heineken! We’ve looked everywhere and nobody seem’s to have the kegs and they don’t know when they will get any. All they say is it’s a supplier issue! Very disappointed! If anyone knows what’s going on pls pass it along.

Loved this product this is the second one I’ve purchased. I had the B-90 model now I have the B-95 and I love them both. The only negative thing i would say would be that heniken needs to make their other beer brands such as Newcastle avaliable to use with the beertender other than that I would recomend this to every man out there unless you don’t care for the taste of heniken beer

Bought this for my parents new bar last christmas. We’ve used it at many of their parties and it always works fine. When you are transporting your keg home from the store and into the house try to shake it as little as possible. Chill it down further in the fridge and pop it into the machine right before you need it. read the ENTIRE instructions BEFORE you start putting the keg in. we RARELY get a foamy beer. It’s all about the prep. Highly recommended for any beer lover.

I recently purchased the BeerTender, I read several reviews stating that it poured too much foam. I have not experienced any issues with foam, even with the first pour. I am not a fan of Heineken beer, but I had heard that NewCastle is coming out with a DraughtKeg as well. I was actually surprised how good the beer was (I did get Heineken Light). Usually Heineken is skunky tasting, but the minikeg was really good. I would suggest this for anyone whom likes keg beer.

I bought 3 of these things — two of the 52 ounce mugs and one of the 34 ounce travel mugs. I use them all the time and am very happy with them. I do use them exclusively for cold drinks so I can’t tell you how well they work for hot stuff — but with cold, I can fill it when I get to the office in the morning and there’s still ice in there at the end of the day 10 hours later.
I’ve seen others complain about a few things and thought I would clarify things:
a) top alignment — the top does not align at 90 degrees to the handle (which would be the natural location that many use when drinking from cups). Instead these mugs align at around 45 degrees (for a right handed hold) or 135 degrees for a left handed hold). With the large size of the mug, I find the 45 degree angle is better than the typical 90 degree angle would be because it makes it easier to hold the weight of the mug. I do typically drink right handed, so if you’re a lefty YMMV.
b) leaking — I have had one of them leak once and just tightening the lid seemed to fix the problem and I haven’t had any leaks since then. I have been using them continuously for the past 5 or 6 weeks in/out of the car and have had no issues other than that one leak. Looking at the design, I could see where you could have a problem given that the rim on the mug is pretty thin, making it easy to get out of alignment or to slide up past the rubber seal. I think a better design would have been to have a thicker rim at the top of the cup — however, I haven’t experienced any problems with this.
c) travel mug tipping – This is a travel mug, so it won’t be as steady when it isn’t in a cup holder as your typical mug. I use the 52 ounce mug at home and at the office and only use the travel mug when I’m heading into the car (though I have taken it with me into class and sat it on the desk without tipping problems — that may be because I’m careful when I do).
The mugs do come with a closure on the top that does a good seal on the cup (not what I would call leak proof – but good enough for me to bounce the mug around carrying it freely in my hand as I walk about without worrying about spills).
Also, I’ve put both carbonated drinks (sodas) and non-carbonated drinks (lemonade) without problems.
Anyway, I’m very happy with them and recommend them for anyone who drinks lots of fluids.
